The products at Srimuang Market are the cheapest because:

1. The transportation is convenient due to the short distance from the source of production to the market, leading to lower production costs, easier sales and lower prices.

2. Farmers bring their own produce for sale. The market only provides space as a farmers’ yard for farmers to bring their products for direct sales without going through middlemen.

3. The market has assigned agricultural academic personnel to support and promote farmers in cutting production costs by conducting inspection for determining the abundance of the land, cultivation of sunn hemp to improve soil conditions (a cheapest form of improvement through introduction of manure and organic materials), production of biologically fermented fertilizer to replace chemical fertilizer, use of bacteria rather than insecticides and chemicals for plant diseases and production planning. At present, up to 800–1000 baht in costs have been reduced.

4. For services to the operators who rent stalls inside Sri Muan Market, renters cannot rent out or sub-rent their stalls. If they do not operate their stalls, they are required to return them to the Company as stated in their contracts. Hence, trade costs do not increase, while products can be sold at lower prices.
